We had snow happening overnight and it was still snowing when I got up this morning .. the damp weather .. or perhaps more accurately, probably the humidity or maybe the barometric pressure or a combination of the two .. makes me hurt.
I have both arthritis and Fibromyalgia .. sometimes I hurt more than other times .. today is one of those more painful days .. this too shall pass .. but it has not yet 🙂
I love to look at the trees covered in snow and little doggie tracks on the deck make me smile too 🙂 .. he enjoys the snow .. sometimes he sticks his little nose in it up to his eyes!
The color contrasts between my inside the house view and the winter outside starkly remind me how fleeting the seasons really are for us.
When I received this rock tower as an unexpected but much loved gift with an order from Inspirational Goodies my first thought was CASTLE 🙂 .. I LOVE castles .. and dragons 🙂 and butterflies and ROCKS .. and sooooo many other things too numerous to list here in this post 🙂
A dear Facebook friend introduced me to the WARDRUNA music today .. I LOVE their music!!!
This and other of their songs will be perfect for painting my castle(s) .. yes I suspect this rock tower and the WARDRUNA music will lead to a series of sketches & drawings & paintings 🙂 .. once my hands feel better so that I can easily hold my art tools to create on paper what I dream up in my mind!
- Step 1 on the Journey for me is always – IDEA
- Step 2 – COLOR & SHAPES & WEATHER THINKING
- Step 3 – MUSIC
- Step 4 – CREATE
.. I remember from my childhood being told that all American Hitchcock’s [maternal Grandfather] at one time were traced back to 4 brothers from England. I *think* it was my maternal Grandfather’s brother who had done the research and it was discussed when they came to visit. They lived in California at the time if I am remembering correctly. I wonder if my Grandfather visited them while driving the semi cross country?
He drove a reefer – refrigerated trailer – he hauled swinging meat. We lived in Des Moines, Iowa – lots of meat packing plants that needed delivery all over the country.
I know he used to visit his son, daughter-in-law & grandkids in Schenectady, New York – he told me so. I was about 10 years old when he died.
My Grandfather was my hero even tho he was gone most of my childhood .. first driving the truck .. then dying after spending about 6 weeks in the hospital .. he had surgery and complications set in afterwards 🙁
He was a good man .. tall, quiet, soft-spoken, smart, nice looking, kind, gentle and loving. He loved reading and learning. My oldest younger brother has his middle name .. I suspect his oldest daughter [my biological mother] idolized her Dad. I know me, his oldest grand-daughter did!
